Many parts of the EM spectrum are harmful. Ultraviolet can cause skin cancer, microwaves can cause heating of body mass, X-rays and gamma rays cause ionisation of body mass and too much exposure will cause cancer or acute damage to the blood cells which will cause rapid death. X-rays are a vital medical tool, but must be carefully used to avoid damage. If you have had hospital X-ray treatment you will have seen that the radiographers go behind a screen during exposure, because they are doing it all day and woulg get too much exposure otherwise
They are harmful to living things because they are higher energy waves.
That energy is called "electromagnetic waves" or "electromagnetic energy".
A piece of wood is not considered electromagnetic energy. Electromagnetic energy refers to the energy carried by electromagnetic waves, such as light, radio waves, and X-rays. Wood does not emit or interact with electromagnetic waves in the same way that energy does.
first of all electromagnetic waves are energy waves. and we call electromagnetic waves RADIATION.
The light is electromagnetic energy; so is the heat radiation. Heat transported through conduction or convection is no longer electromagnetic energy.

the energy that makes the electromagnetic spectrum is electromagnetic radiation
Well, obviously. We wouldn't even SEE without electromagnetic radiation. What's more, we wouldn't even BE ALIVE - since plants get their energy from the electromagnetic radiation emitted by the Sun.
Light is a form of electromagnetic energy.
Electromagnetic energy travels in waves.
I would call it an electromagnetic wave, or electromagnetic energy.
Energy transferred by electromagnetic waves is called radiation.

Walking produces motion, not electromagnetic energy.
what do you call the transfer of energy by electromagnetic waves
