Well first of all, if you talk to him alot on text then you know that you guys are probably good friends. But i think that if you like a guy you shouldn't tell him through text. Maybe through phone but in person is best (unless you are 100% sure he doesn't like you back cuz he may think your weird) but if you two are really good friends, I think you should say it to his face so it means more to him because you never know, he may like you back.

Text the guy once, but don't text him over and over if he doesn't answer it. It gets repetitive and irritating, and if you text over and over even though he isn't responding, you either seem desperate or slow to get the message. I doubt you would want to convey either message.
