My lower back is horrible but I found easy ways to correct it.
You need to make sure you are breathing through you stomach not into your chest. When you are breathing look at your stomach and make sure it is moving up and down. If it is not, and your chest is, you need to change that. Also, at all times you should keep a curve in your back, even when bending, and when laying down. Exercises will help to strengthen you back and make it stronger. When standing up use you hips and thighs, NOT your back. These tips will not rid your back problems right away but will help a lot in the long stretch. Hope this helps!
If this is your first time with the issue, there's things to try before going to physical therapy. For me, it is caused by stress, slouching in a bad position and tight hamstrings. Usually, short sessions of heat and ice, alternating, helps. Walking in a pool will help loosen up the muscles, which are very sympathetic to tension. Yoga stretches, such as child pose, the cat and other basic stretching moves. If you would rather not move, try a chiropractor for a basic adjustment or go for a massage. ibuprofen or naproxen are the best NSAIDs.

The best way to treat a lower back pain is to visit a chiropractic and address your pain, also if the problem is just present when applying stress to the lower back a good solution is to stretch and move as soon as the pain starts to relieve the stress on the lower back.
