It depends what age you are talking about when you say "kids". Elementary school aged kids (5-12) should just get out and play more. With the Video Games, television, and computers keeping them inside, weight loss is much more difficult to reach as compared to ten years ago. Kids this age naturally have endless energy, so getting out and playing tag with the neighbor's kids, swinging, hiking in the woods, and taking walks with mom and dad are great and simple ways to help them. Encouragement is also key, so be sure to make your child excited to go out and play in the sun!

For older children (12-17) it is a little more difficult. School does not have recess, so from six in the morning to about three in the afternoon your child is sitting, sitting, and sitting. The one little blip of PE they might have does not really cut it, and school-provided lunches are just salt, sugar, and fat. The first step to weight loss at this age is to bring their own healthy lunch (it is also less expensive than buying every day). If possible, have them walk to school, but only if its light out. Encourage them to do their absolute best in PE every day. Lastly, have them snack less and healthier at home and try to get regular exercise in their free time

Your children will all feel much better, physically and mentally, when they reach a healthy weight. It all starts with mom and dad's encouragement though, so be sure to help them every step of the way

If you want to lose weight you have to exercise. Exercise is very important. Cardio exercise is the best or any cardio sport or cardio activity. In addition to exercise, you need to change your eating habits and eat healthier foods. All you need is breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Don't starve yourself. If you are really hungry have a snack of vegetables to nibble on such as carrots or celery. Remember if you are overweight or obese you can lose weight now no matter what age all you need is daily exercise and a healthy breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack.

Eat a 'sensible' diet and take regular exercise.

But first, find out from a health professional if you need to lose weight.

Too ,many young people who 'want' to lose weight do themselves a lot of harm by eating badly adn loosing too much weight - at a time in their life when their bodies are still forming.

Run a couple miles, do some crunches, push ups, etc.

Also, expecting to lose weight 'fast' is just a road to failure. If you think it's going to be quick and easy, you're wrong. It takes A LOT of work, determination and consistency. But if you want to maximize your weight loss, the most you should be working out a week is 10 hours (if you've got at least 50 pounds to lose), eat clean foods, count calories, and look into some diet books. I recommend Master Your Metabolism by Jillian Michaels.

And if you're a parent trying to help your kid lose weight, the best thing you can do is lead by example. Telling your kid they need to lose weight could make them lean towards getting bigger or starving themselves. Kids don't think about your concern towards them when you say something like that. The first thing that usually comes to their minds is "Well, you don't like me like this? Than watch me now." and they could start to binge eat or come anorexic.

Eat healthy foods, get outdoors with your kids and play with them- they'll be more inclined to do the same thing. You'll get more time with your kids and they'll lose weight.

This is a question every teenager wants to know about. I've been losing weight myself for a few days now getting ready for my new holiday. Searching and searching for quick fixes online. I've looked at 'BMI' Calculators and every single one has told me that i am a 'healthy ideal weight' which is total bull. When i look in the mirror i feel massive. i agree i may not sound over with a height of 5ft 2inches and a weight of 8st 3pounds. but i really do look 'chubby' and i hate it. There is not quick fixes for young girls like me, but we are young and can find it slightly easier to lose our weight. Just follow what i am doing for the next three months;

- Measure yourself, waist, hips, thighs, bust, weight. (write this down and keep doing for every 2weeks until the end of your weight losing)

- Set a 'goal weight' for yourself.

- If you see cravings WALK AWAY. i know it sounds hard but just don't lead yourself to the temptation and keep imagining yourself in a bikini or a really nice outfit, think how good you wanna look.

- Do at least 30mins exercise a day.

- Eat 5 or 6 small meals a day. (I eat every two hours, 10am,12pm,2pm...)

What do you think tardo? Can a fat, overweight kid lose weight fast without quitting junk food? Kids can't lose weight fast anyway. So no, you can't make a child lose weight if he still eats McDonalds and stuffs his face with super peanut butter chocolate candy crunch ice cream.

Well, a year and a half go I join tea kwon do. It is tons of fun and lots of good exercise. You could also get a membership at the gym... Hope this helps, good luck
