Landfills that become full are stabilized so the waste is not toxic or a threat to the health of people. Once this is done, some landfills become parks, playgrounds, ball fields, and Golf courses.
A landfill will never fill up because decomposition is always taking place.
A sanitary landfill
A sanitary landfill retains the dumped material away from the environment until it is "sanitary" or "safe" to release it.
Most garbage around the world ends up in landfill. In different places it is:Allowed to contaminate the neighbouring soil and waterHeld in secure landfill where it cannot leak into the surrounding land or water tableJust burnt, sometimes with emission filtering or capture, sometimes notBurnt as biomass (to generate electricity)Used to generate methane as a biofuel (for heating, industry or electricity generation)Sorted for recyclables first which are then separated from the garbageOpen to the public who can search for recyclables and reusablesUsed by landfill owners or local authorities as a second-hand shop, where items are salvaged and offered for saleA:Trash builds up and keeps building up in a land fill. Some of the trash biodegrades (or disintegrates) but trash like plastic does not. Instead, the plastic biodegrades after many years into the chemical wastes it is made of, like oil. Trash that people lazily throw into sewers eventually end up in our ocean and rivers polluting our waterways and potentially killing ocean life. A:All the waste that is not recycled is dumped in a landfill site. This is where they dig huge holes and dump the waste. When the hole is full they cover the top and leave it to disintegrate (which in fact takes over 1000 years). Tragic!
No it won't a because photodegradable means it will break down if exposed to sunlight, but since it is in a land fill there won't be much exposure to the sun, so that means it will slowly break down in the land fill.
Thermosetting plastics can not be recycled because they can not be reformed or re moulded

They make a new landfill and start to put the rubbish there.
Sadly, it is thrown into a landfill where much of it will take centuries to decompose. The landfill sites are often levelled eventually, when they are full, and used for sports fields.
Air and land. The land is filled with garbage and the air from the odors and chemicals the landfill gives off.
NO! It smells lovely! Thats dumb. a landfill is full of garbage. of course it's smelly.
Landfill is surrounded by land. Land is shaped so that it encompasses the areas to fill in garbage. This will prevent the garbage from drifting everywhere when dumped into the sea.
