No religion can be proven scientifically. That defeats the purpose of religion. Religion is based on faith - faith is believing in something that you cannot physically see, hear, touch, or prove.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) are asked to develop their own testimonies (firmly held beliefs) of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the doctrines of the Church. This doesn't mean that they have physical proof or evidence that it is true. They have studied the scriptures and prayed, and then had a religious experience in which they felt that the truth was confirmed within their heart or spirit. This experience of receiving personal confirmation of the truth is one of the central focuses of Church teaching.

All religions can be proven false, even if the actual non-existence of the deity can not be proven (requiring as that wou.

Mormonism is particularly susceptable because the Book of Mormon contains material that can be disproved by the archaeological evidence of the Americas.

The Book of Mormon also explicitly states (Third Nephi) that Jesus was born in the year 1 AD - either Matthew and Luke were wrong about the birth of Jesus occurring during the reign of King Herod (died April, 4 BCE) or the Book of Mormon was written by someone superficially familiar with the work of the Roman abbot Dionysus Exiguus*, who devised the new Christian calendar in 533. If the founding document of Mormonism is of recent origin, then Mormonism is certainly false.

Footnote:

* Dionysus knew that it was impossible to say when Jesus was born, but he knew, or thought he knew, when Herod died. So, he chose to begin his Christian calendar on the year of Herod's death, and he based this on the reign of the Roman emperor Augustus. Unaware that Augustus only adopted that name four years after his reign began, going by his birth name of Octavius until then, Exiguus commenced his calendar just 4 years too late.
