well depending on the habit if it is a really hard thing to let go of try to find a new hobby or a substitute during the period of time when this habit comes to you the most like chew gum for example make crafts anything to keep your mind off of it after a few days it should get easyer just try to get past the 3 day hump

if your a heavy alcoholic, then most likely you will need treatment such as rehab and counseling. but if your not struggling to control the amount of alcohol you intake, then it shouldn't be to hard to just put the bottle down.

The only way to break a habit is to replace it!

Although some people can quit cold turkey....most people just don't have the willpower, so quit fooling yourself.

If you smoke, or gamble, or bite your nails, figure out something to do instead... chew gum, use nail polish each time you want to bite, have a notebook and write a poem or draw each time the urge to shop hits... by replacing the habit your mind will be occupied and you will begin to associate the bad old habit with the new replacement habit....

Usually we try hardly to break bad habits that for sure would affect our behavior and our life , and has a negative impact on others when it comes to make a judgment .

i consider bad habits like bad thoughts or ideas that needs to be rejected quickly not just because it would harm my track or my performance but also it will make feel badly and in a offensive mood , so this need to make practical steps like i intend to convince myself that this [habit] is bad and everyone hate this and we think that it's hard not really but we should also try so anytime we feel this we must reject it by all ways . If you feel good by talking with someone trustworthy about this issue than can help you then no problem the point is you should always tackle the problem before it get worse and you loose control over it
