Is care one credit card good on credit reports?

Care One is a debt consolidation service that negotiates with your creditors to reduce your debt. Debt reduction never looks good on your credit report because it signals to creditors that you have not paid your previous debts in full. However, most people who are deep in debt rightly prioritize getting out of debt over having a good credit rating. Also, credit reports only go back seven years, so eventually negative items will drop off your report.

How do you contact your creditors to pay off bad credit?

Trust me I have been there done that! I searched online through google to find phone numbers and addresses, contacted the company, then they gave me the number to the debt collector whom i called and made a payment plan with and paid off my debt. Then to remove it from your credit is very simple you log onto experian.com or equifax.com and you can request a free credit report! You get one free credit report a year!

What is more credit damaging Bankruptcy or settling a credit card debt?

Bankruptcy would be more credit damaging than just having large credit card debt, mainly because it stays on your credit report for longer. One of the biggest disadvantages of filing for bankruptcy is the lasting effect it has on your credit report- typically staying on your report for 7-10 years. With credit card debt there are more flexible options and obviously when you pay the debt and does not stay on your report for as long.

Is a bad debt erased after 7 years?

No it is NOT! You have to get your credit report to see when the creditor last updated their report to the credit reporting agency. If the creditor chooses to report this bad debt every month than your bad debt will only be erased from the last update. For example: You have a bad debt from a Sears credit card from Jan of 2010. Each month Sears has reported your bad debt to Trans Union or one of the other agencies. The new date is from the last time they updated your credit report NOT from Jan of 2010. They can update it every month for the next 20 years and it will stay as a bad debt and ruin your credit report score. Legal to do it too.

If you have been told you have a delinquent debt with a car repossession that was charged off in 1994 can this debt be placed on your current credit report even though you have denied ever owning the car?

A repossession that is over seven years old is not supposed to be on your credit report. It is not unusual for a collection agency to illegaly "reage" a debt in order to try to pressure you to pay. From your post it does not appear that you know what is on your credit report. If you have been denied credit then you are entitled to receive one for free. Contact information for the three credit reporting agencies can be found at solidgoldhomebusiness.com If this item is actually on your credit report then you can dispute the information and demand verification. Dispute instructions will be included with the report.

I would think several items as the important point is the seven year limit on debt.

How does one report debt owed to them to the IRS and the credit bureaus?

Individuals cannot report to credit bureaus concerning debts that they are owed. Individuals should file a lawsuit in the appropriate state court and when (if) they are awarded a judgment the judgment will appear on the debtor's credit report.
