One can do the following to try to avoid coronary Heart disease: eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, maintain a healthy diet low in fat and sodium, exercise regularly, monitor cholesterol levels and blood pressures regularly, and avoid smoking. If these do not bring down cholesterol and blood pressures regularly, consult a doctor and use medication, once prescribed.

Coronary heart disease kills many people each year, and it takes a great toll on the health of many others. However, coronary heart disease doesn’t have to be a scary thought. There are steps you can take to keep your heart healthy and less at risk for coronary heart disease.

Smoking or using tobacco products can increase your risk of heart disease, as well as cause many other health problems. Tobacco narrows your arteries which can cause a heart attack. Even only smoking once in a while can increase your risk. However, no matter how long you have been smoking, as soon as you stop, your risk decreases within a year.

Exercise is another great way to keep your heart healthy. Being physically active reduces things such as blood pressure and high cholesterol that can lead to heart attack and cause heart disease. A lack of exercise can also cause Diabetes which increase risks to your heart. Doctors recommend that everyone get at least thirty minutes of exercise most days each week. This may sound difficult to fit into your schedule, but things you probably do frequently, such as walking a dog, gardening, and walking up stairs. Even if you have to break up the thirty minutes into ten minute sessions, you will still reap the benefits of the exercise.

There is a special diet called DASH-Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension-that is designed to keep your blood pressure down, which in turn keeps your heart healthier. If this specific diet is not an option, there are eating habits you can develop that will also help. Avoid saturated and trans fats and increase the amount of fruits and vegetables that you eat. You can also supplement your diet with omega-3 fatty acids, either with pills or by eating foods rich in them.

Keep your weight within its normal range. Extra weight leads to health problems that increase your heart disease risks. Exercising and eating well will help you keep your weight down. One more thing you can do to help prevent heart disease is to get regular check-ups with your physician. When health problems are detected early on, there is a much higher chance of a full recovery. Doing these things will help you prevent coronary heart disease.

How do fatty foods one's diet lead to coronary artery disease?

Coronary Heart Disease - is a damage to the heart caused by transporting of extra fats in to the blood vessels and the narrowing of blood vessels that supply blood to the heart muscle.
