I understand that cutting is a habit that is almost impossible to resist. As a ex-cutter, I know it feels like all your hurt, and sadness is pouring out of you. I know it feels better afterwards, but you shouldn't harm yourself to get to the happiness. People will eventually find out, and you can get arrested for, 'self-harm' or 'atempted suicide'. And what for? Yes, you may have problems in your life, turn to God, that's what I did. He'll forgive you for doing it, and He's always there for you. Another thing you can do (this works well, too!) Is turning up some music, and writing down all your emotions, and how you feel... you will most likely cry during this, but you shred up the paper and do wahtever you like to it- punch it, claw it, etc. You can do many things other than cutting such as- yoga, drawing, poetry, horseback riding, writing, singing them, learning to play guitar(or any other instrument). well hi. this must be hard, i get that but listen up, okay? You want to be a ex cutter, that is great you just took that first step. Next get a loose rubber band and put it on your wrist. When you need to cut just pick up the rubber band and let go, it will help Now get a dairy or something like that and write your feelings and such it and maybe after that talk to a friend so they can help you. Next, find out what u love: write songs, play an instrument, draw, etc. After that talk to some one and eventually you will become a ex cutter

You Can't really cut yourself without it hurting,

However I did find the other day, when I was really really angry, and I cut myslef, and I didnt feel a thing, cause i was just so angry.

So, Only cut yourself when you are really really angry, and then hopfully no pain

No. You do not want to cut yourself, I by no means mean to sound harsh, but cutting is a shameful thing. Imagin what the people who love you would say if they found out. Cutting is nothing but an ugly, pointless way to relive stress and difficulties in life, but its not worth it.

Try the Butterfly Project:

Whenever you feel like cutting, take a marker or pen and draw a butterfly on your arm and name it after someone you love. Someone else can draw the butterfly if you want. If you cut, you kill the butterflies. See these butterflies and remember those who love you.

You can also snap a rubber band on your wrist when you feel like cutting. You still feel a painful sensation but you don't do anything stupid or dangerous that could kill you when you're depressed.

These worked really well for me.

Cutting is very addicting and a hard thing to get rid of. I deal with it and I've only begun getting help. I've found that some counselors who specialize in that field can be very helpful. Also, talking to your friends that you trust can help alot. Another thing you can do is keep yourself occupied. When you think of doing it, turn on the tv, read a book, even listen to the radio! Cutting doesn't just "go away." Once you start, you're going to have it for the rest of your life. Granted you may stop, but when that first cut is made, it tries to take over your life. Its basically a drug. Talk to someone about it, your friends, family, a trusted counselor. You'll be thankfull for them in the end.

You won't do it. This is the kind of person who needs help from a professional - at best, you'd make them indifferent. At worst, your attempts could cause them to increase the amount of self-harm.

You can place a rubber band on your wrist and when you get the urge to self harm pull it so it snaps against your skin.
