Protons are made up of small particles called quarks. More specificly, a proton is made up of 2 "up" quarks and 1 "down" quark. (note: 'up' and 'down' classify what kind of quark it is. Some other quarks are top, bottom, charm, and strange)
Protons are made up of subatomic particles, called quarks. In a proton, there are three quarks: two up quarks, and one down quark (basically positive and negative quarks, but there is a fine difference between up and positive, and down and negative quarks, so down and up are used when referring to types of quarks). So, a proton isn't just a positively charged, solid particle - it is made up of smaller particles. Though, protons aren't broken down any further than quarks, because quarks are elementary particles. Elementary particles are particles that aren't made up of anything smaller than itself.
Neutrons are elementary particles without electrical charge.
there are 7 quarks in aluminum
well, a quark makes up protons, nutrons and electrons. there are some therios: but no awnser, quarks are basic things. but they make up this whole universe. it is not yet discoverd what makes up quarks.
The Top, Charm, and Up quarks have +2/3 of an 'elementary' charge. The Bottom, Strange, and Down quarks have -1/3 of an 'elementary' charge.
When scientists say that quarks are elementary particles it means that they are NOT made up of other particles.
The six flavors of quarks are:topbottomupdowncharmstrange
"Elementary" in this context means that they are not known to be made up of smaller particles. It doesn't mean they can't undergo changes. You can think of the flavors as different excitation states of the same particle - comparable to different vibration modes on the same string. In fact, according to string theory (which is not really a scientific theory yet - more a hypothesis), the fundamental structures in the Universe ARE a type of string, and the different vibration modes of those strings are what gives them their different properties.
Quarks are the smallest things in existence. A quark is an elementary particle.
Quarks
"There are six types of quarks, known as flavors: up, down, charm, strange, top, and bottom. Up and down quarks have the lowest mass of all quarks. The heavier quarks rapidly change into up and down quarks through a process of particle decay: the transformation from a higher mass state to a lower mass state. For this reason, up and down quarks are generally stable and the most common in the universe, whereas charm, strange, top, and bottom quarks can only be produced in high energy collisions (such as those involving cosmic rays and in particle accelerators)." -Copied word for word from wikipedia.
Quarks are elementary particles and a fundamental part of matter. Finding news about it can be done by doing a search on the new through and news media site.
The quark has a neutron and proton stuck on it in the nucleus, which is related to the isotope. But for the subatomic particle, it is in it! All quarks are subatomic particles but not all subatomic particles are quarks
Both Beta plus (positrons) and beta minus (electrons) are elementary particles the same as quarks.
Proton is an elementary particle containing quarks and gluons. Proton is not a radical.
The electron is an elementary particle; it contains no other particles. Neutrons are composed of quarks.
