Because soil is dirt and little rocks
Crumbly, bits of earth.
When Earth is viewed as a system, soil is referred to as an interface -- a common boundary where different parts of a system interact. Soil forms where the geosphere, the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, and the biosphere meet. Over time, soil gradually evolves to a state of equilibrium w/ the environment.
. The term soil consistency is used to describe the resistance of a soil at various moisture contents to mechanical stresses or manipulations. It is commonly measured by feeling and manipulating the soil by hand or by pulling a tillage instrument through it. The consistency of soils is generally described at three soil moisture levels: wet, moist and dry.
The denudation of the soil cover and subsequent washing down is described as soil erosion. The processes of soil formation and erosion, go on simultaneously and generally there is a balance between the two. Sometimes, this balance is disturbed due to human activities like deforestation, over-grazing, construction and mining etc., while natural forces like wind, glacier and water lead to soil erosion.breaking down of soil time period can cause land slides.

The type of soil described is called laterite.

Soil is described as a mixture due to the various components that it has. The main components are air, water and gravel among others.

When soil is washed away by water and wind,it's called soil erosion. It usually happens at hills with not many trees. If there are many trees, the roots will hold the soil firmly so there will be a lesser chance of soil erosion to occur.
