You need to have the air bag system checked by the dealer before something bad happens. I believe your air bag system is under warranty for life. Don't try to repair this yourself. It could be very dangerous.
Means the front air bag is turned on or thare is a problem with the air bag
This means that either the air bag is turned off, or there is a problem with the airbag system.

Bought my used 2003 Beetle with this light glowing & after 2 trips to the DEALER it was determined to be the seat belt latch on the drivers side.
The cause of the code that turned the light on will have to be repaired before the light will turn off.
Something is causing the air bag to malfunction so the air bag system will not operate. You will need to read the codes to know exactly why that is, maybe a bad sensor or wiring problem. Take to a VWdealer for the best service on this.
If the air bag s were deployed you will have to take the vehicle to the dealership to have the light turned off.
Probably an air bag sensor warning.
If you switch the air bag on does the "telltale light" go out or stay on. If it goes out then one can surmise that the "telltale light" is telling you that it is turned off.
SRS stands for Supplemental Restraint System or the Air Bag system. When this light is on the computer for the air bag system has found a fault in the system. When this light is on, the Air bag system is disabled and will not operate in the event of a crash. The light will not turn off until the problem has been fixed and the light needs to be turned off, (code cleared), by using a scan tool at a repair shop.
A flashing air bag light on the 1992 Ford Crown Victoria means that the airbag system has been disabled. This could be because it is damaged or because the key for the system is turned to "off."
Using the proper scanner you can clear the code that turned on the light. But:The the light should go out once the fault is repaired
