Design points to a Designer. Complexity points to wisdom and purposefulness. The same goes for cooperation such as symbiosis. For example, theoretical physicist and popular science writer Paul Davies (whose early writings were not especially sympathetic to theism) states concerning the fundamental structure of the universe, "the impression of design is overwhelming" (Davies, 1988, p. 203).
"A living cell is so awesomely complex that its interdependent components stagger the imagination and defy evolutionary explanations" (Michael Denton, author).
"The astounding structural complexity of a cell" (U.S. National Library of Medicine).

Appearance of design is different to evidence of design, and is more easily asserted. If it is easy to assert that one sees the appearance of design in nature, then it becomes easy to use this to support belief in God. The risk is that this can become a circular argument: if we are creationists we can expect to see the appearance of design in nature becasue of our fundamental belief in a creator God, then having seen that appearance of design, we can use this to bolster our fundamental belief in a creator God. No harm is done, if this merely helps one to sustain an unprovable belief.
William Payley's design argument was that the World was not just made by coincidence. There had to have been some creator and that creator was God.

Well.... Immanent is where a spiritual belief is on earth or within earth. Transcendant is where spiritual belief is out of this world. For example: the balance of Christianity would be God is in heaven and is transcendant but he created the all things on earth so he shows immanence through nature. Many things in the world has designed, however, the human body for example, is so complex structured that it is impossible for mankind to build, therefore there can be belief in God/Allah as people may think God can be the only designer of this. An intentional mental state is a mental state that represents content or different states of affairs. For example, a belief is an intentional mental state that represents the way the world it. It may be a true belief that accurately represents the world (i.e. the belief the world is a globe) or it could be a false belief that does not accurately represent the world (i.e. the belief that the world is flat). Desires (including hopes/dreams/etc) are also intentional mental states that represent how the agent would like the world to be.
