The Constitution created a national government made up of three separate branches (separation of powers) and provided for a system of checks and balances so that each branch could check the power of the other two branches, thus preventing any one branch from becoming too powerful. The Tenth Amendment to the Constitution also provides that powers not given to the federal government, nor specifically denied the states, belongs to the people and the states.

A monarchal form of government is a system where a single individual, usually a king or queen, holds the supreme authority and power. This individual inherits the position through hereditary means and often serves as the head of state for life. The monarch's powers are typically limited by a constitution or shared with other branches of government.
The Supreme Court enforces its rulings through the power of judicial review. If the Court declares that a law or action by Congress or the President is unconstitutional, it becomes binding on all parties involved. The Court relies on the cooperation and respect of the other branches to enforce its decisions, but it does not have its own enforcement mechanisms.

The framers of the constitution feared the rise of an "all powerful" and tyrannical central government like the one they were once subjects of, the British Crown under King George III, so they used philosopher Montesquieu's idea of separation of powers to create three branches of government, the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches. These three branches make it so that the power of government will be balanced and one branch could not become too powerful. Congress, the President, and the Supreme Court check each others' powers so that the central government cannot become a tyranny through the powers of impeachment(Leg.), judicial review(Jud.), veto(Exe.), appointment(Exe.), and approval(Leg.), among other powers.
The US Government is devised in to 3 branches. The Judicial, Legislative, and Executive. The Judicial branch intreperts the law and makes decesions based to how they intrepert the consittution. This is done through the Supreme Court. The Legislative branch makes the laws. Laws are introduced to Congree as Bills. THey then vote on them in hopes of getting the Presidents approval. The executive branch carries out or enforces the law, through officers at the federal, state, and local levels. The President is in charge of this branch. No branch is more important than another. Instead all the branches limit and control the power of the others through a system called checks and balances. Basically, each branch has the responsibility to take action if another branch gets too powerful.
If a person thinks that their rights have been violated they can go through the courts to the Supreme Court.
