Following are the reasons for thruster brake failure:
- Low oil level. the oil level should be regularly checked for healthy operation.
- Motor disc coupling.
No.
yes
The transmission will fail.
Yes it will.
You have a hole in your brake line.
Your power steering will fail because brake fluid is poor lubricant.
This grossly unsafe. If you have just the booster fail the brakes will still work but not well. If the brakes fail completely you could crash and die.
There is either a burnt out fuse, or a problem with your brake light switch, located under the dash connected to brake peddle arm.
The BOO (Brake On/Off) Switch may need to be replaced. If it is bad, it would cause the brake lights to NOT illuminate when the brake pedal is applied.
A Ford Tempo will have no brake lights if the bulb has blown or the wires have come loose. Alternatively, the brake sensor in the dash can fail and stop sending power to the lights.
A bad brake booster will cause a vacuum leak, result in poor braking, and even poor engine performance. The brake booster has a large diaphragm which can fail and leak.
A hand brake is almost an insurance policy for bicycle riders. If the bike's brakes fail for some reason, there is the hand brake that can be used to stop the bike's motion.
