∙ 7y agoThe rings in a tree trunk are used to work out how old the tree is. There is a ring for each year the tree has lived so by counting the number of rings you can work out how many years the tree lived for. You can also roughly determine the weather in those years based on the thickness of the rings, more water and nutrients makes thicker rings and drier years result in thinner rings.
