To do this you would connect the monition to a set top box with a DV1 cable output from the DV1 output for the set top box to the input on the monitor it still would not have sound only TV picture (see related link) Some PC type speakers could probably be connected to the set top box audio output to provide the sound. If the set top box has an input for HDMI you might be all set to just plug the PS3 into it. However if you don't already have all the parts it would be much cheaper to just purchase an LCD HDTV whose prices continue to decrease.
