If you look at the art of Michelangelo's Sistine you see a perfect example of the reflection the Neoplatonic thinking and Humanism. The center panel of the painting shows God touching the hand of man. This was truly a revolutionary idea since the Catholic Church had always told their parishioners that they were the mediator for man to communicate with God.

For the most part, art during the Renaissance was religious. However, portraiture as well as mythological themes were also popular (secular) themes.
Humanism affected Renaissance art by the way humanism was. Humanists believed in individuality and human societies therefore using ancient Romans and Greeks models but expressed them with humanist ideas.
