Protecting human beings from global warming is practically impossible. We cannot dig caves underground or build whole nations under the ocean for people to live. The only thing we can do is to slow or stop global warming. We have to stop relying on fossil fuels and thus stop putting CO2 into the air, and we have to plant billions of trees, the only way at present to remove CO2 from the atmosphere.

Before you get caught up in this fear, strongly consider what the world looked like in 1909 - were there cars? computers? nuclear power? how efficient were power plants? air conditioning? home heating? Could someone actually go to the moon? How about Mars? Now, if people in 1909 were attempting to predict what the climate would be in 2009, could they also predict the massive amount of innovations, and any innovations that might make the climate change that may happen in the next 100 years a benefit vs. a deficit? Better farming methods? Arid Farming? Wet farming? Indoor farming? Could they even predict what we would eat?

Fear is all too often used as a political tool. When someone tries to frighten you into doing something, it's always a good idea to question the motive.
