Protecting human beings from global warming is practically impossible. We cannot dig caves underground or build whole nations under the ocean for people to live. The only thing we can do is to slow or stop global warming. We have to stop relying on fossil fuels and thus stop putting CO2 into the air, and we have to plant billions of trees, the only way at present to remove CO2 from the atmosphere.

plant trees

conserve electricity

use a car as little as possible

recycle paper, plastic, and metal

only buy used cars( 1000 gallons of gasoline go into the air for every new car made)

tell everyone you know to do the same without being rude or stuck up

donate to conservationist organizations and global warming prevention research

you can find these programs on the internet

Global Warming is a false accusation created for the purpose of persuading gullible humans into purchasing new expensive cars. Which will only force us to be rid of huge electronic batteries into our Earth.

You are assuming global warming (I.E. climate change) is something that we can and should protect against.

The debate is still on whether "global warming" is actually happening, and further more, if it is happening, if it is actually a bad thing.

Fear is being instilled in many about global warming due to models (that have been repeatedly called into question) that predict specific changes in climate 50 and 100 years in the future. Before you get caught up in this fear, strongly consider what the world looked like in 1909 - were there cars? computers? nuclear power? how efficient were power plants? air conditioning? home heating? Could someone actually go to the moon? How about Mars? Now, if people in 1909 were attempting to predict what the climate would be in 2009, could they also predict the massive amount of innovations, and any innovations that might make the climate change that may happen in the next 100 years a benefit vs. a deficit? Better farming methods? Arid Farming? Wet farming? Indoor farming? Could they even predict what we would eat?

Fear is all too often used as a political tool. When someone tries to frighten you into doing something, it's always a good idea to question the motive.

You can't.

We have already emitted enough carbon dioxide to cause significant changes in the climate. The Earth is very slow to react, but it will do over the next 100 years.

To be clear, even if we stop burning all fossil fuels today, we will still experience significant warming.

Travel to another planet, or stop global warming happening. There is no way to protect billions of people from global warming. The very rich will be able to shelter for a while, but when they have to start producing their own food, they will not survive.

By education, by example, by voting, by legislation.

Education: The more people understand the causes, effects and dangers of global warming the more likely they are to change their own behaviour and to get others to change theirs.

Example: Show good environmental actions to your family, peers and colleagues. Tell them what you are doing and why.

Voting: Vote for politicians who will do something about climate change, who will support renewable energy, and who will support a move away from polluting fossil fuel energy. Shareholders of companies can vote and encourage their companies to adopt clean policies and renewable energy.

Legislation: Politicians can legislate for cleaner air, tighter carbon dioxide pollution controls from cars and factories, support for renewable energy projects. They can legislate for a true price on carbon, so that polluters pay for the carbon they emit.

Human beings can help stop global warming by cutting down our consumption of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas), We can also plant billions of trees, to act as a great carbon sink.

Why does global warming decrease temperatures?

True global warming does not decrease temperatures. So, either the model for global warming's effects is hokus-pokus, or global warming as presently claimed, does not exist. Some global warming followers will have you believe that global warming makes the weather "act crazy". If true, then it is not really global warming, is it.

Is global warming a pollution?

Global warming in itself isn't pollution - global warming is the gradual warming of the earth. However, global warming was caused by carbon dioxide pollution in the atmosphere, but global warming in itself isn't a pollution. yes it is a pollution
