There are several tasks that can be assigned to you based on your preferences. Once these tasks are completed, you will receive a number of badges and promotions. For example, one promotion is when a regular user is promoted to supervisor of a specific category. Once promoted to this position, the user is given more "power" to do tasks that a normal user would not be permitted to do such as trashing questions, responding in a supervisors' forum, putting questions in a catch-all category, and many other things!

You can recommend yourself once. To advance your Trust Points, just make high-quality answers and/or contributions to WikiAnswers and someone is bound to trust you.
