First you have to have talent, you have to know somthing about music and you have to love it. Next you can either buy yourself a dj set and take tutorel lessons on youtube or any other site or you can go to the school for DJ's located in Washington (it's the only one I know of)
Then once you have experience start playing at clubs and other places like parties, and work your way up to become a Dj pro at Tomorow Land;) Good luck!

Qualifications are not important. What you need to focus on is experience. Try writing a letter to your local hospital radio station as every hospital has a hospital radio station.

∙ 10y agoIf you are serious about becoming a DJ, you have to get equipment and of course music. You have to be passionate about it of course, and you have to create an attractive personality that is fun peppy and outgoing. Your goal is to control the crowd and please them. You have to also personalize the music you choose to play for your crowd. You should get in touch with a local dj and ask if you can go to a gig with him. Listen to them and observe how they work. You should start off with small gigs, and build up.
While all of these are very valid points I strongly believe education and learning about the music and DJing is the number one key. A great place to start is a DJ course such as www.djmastercourse.com - NEVER STOP LEARNING and become the best DJ possible.

∙ 14y agoYou've got to have a really good ear for music. Get a diverse collection, check out local music scenes; music has to be your life. You don't have to be good at making music, but you have to know it. Good DJs know how to choose the next song on the fly so that it transitions smoothly. Also, if you're going to play electronic dance music, you have to match the beats of the different songs together. I'm pretty sure they have computer software for it, but it's still a good skill. all in all, you just have to know how to play music, which is a strange but essential skill. Happy DJ-ing!!
