There is no dipstick, underneath the vehicle on the transmission pan there is a drain plug and a fill plug, with the vehicle warm, loosen the fill plug, it will be the allen headed bolt recessed in the pan, if fluid runs or drips out, its full, if not you add a quart of fluid, cap it off, get it warm, undo the plug and let it run out until it drips, it is now full
how do you find out how to check the transmition in a isuzu rodeo
On the 2002 Rodeo the transmission is sealed and is non servicable by the owner. You cannot even check the fluid level so I advise taking it to an Isuzu repair shop.
In my 93 Isuzu Rodeo you have to add your transmission fluid buy poring it into the the transmission fluid dipstick.
what type of transmission fluid used for a 97 Isuzu rodeo
To check the transmission fluid on a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo, locate the transmission dipstick, which is typically found near the back of the engine bay. With the engine running and the vehicle in park, pull out the dipstick, clean it with a rag, then reinsert it and remove it again to check the fluid level. The fluid should be within the designated marks on the dipstick. If needed, add the appropriate type of transmission fluid through the dipstick tube.

Transmission fluid level: As you don
The way to check the transmission fluid level is you run the vehicle in park until operating temp. When operating temperature is reached then there is a plug in the transmission pan pull out just the middle of it to check fluid.
My Trooper did the same thing and I replaced the fluid and filter and added a separate trans fluid cooler and that fixed the problem.
