First see if it is running by listening at the fuel filler door while someone else turns on the ignition but does not start the vehicle. You should hear it run for a few seconds. If you do not hear it run check the fuel pump fuse. If the fuse is good check the fuel pump relay. If the relay is good then the pump is more than likely defective. If you hear it run then it may still be defective but the fuel filter may also be clogged. If the filter is not clogged then the pump is running but not pumping fuel. A fuel pressure test will also verify if a running pump is good or not.
first check to see if fuel filter is clogged.if you have an electric fuel pump, check the fuel pump fuse. next check the fuel lift pump. then check the injector pump
You can check your 1984 928 Porsche fuel pump with a diagnostic tester. You can also check the fuel pump by connecting the wires to a power source and see if the fuel pump operates.
Check the fuel pump fuse and relay. Check to see if the fuel pump has failed. Check the fuel filter to see if it is clogged. Check the fuel lines for leakage, especially rubber flexible lines. Check the fuel line for blockage or crimps.
check ur lines and see if they are kinked or broken Also check the fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay.
to check the pump ,you need to remove the out fuel line from the pump. this is the line that goes from the pump to the injectors or carburettor, etc then crank engine. if pump is good, fuel will shoot out of the pump.then just replace fuel line
check fuel cut off switch make sure its not triggered. check fuel pressure if none see if u hear fuel pump going on if not check for blowen fuse, check for power at fuel pump if u have power at fuel pump replace fuel pump. also make sure ur fuel filter is not plugged it sounds like a fuel pump to me. you will have to drop the fuel tank to replace pump.
if after replacing fuel pump and still not getting power to the pump, check the crank sensor, this may have gone bad and quite often can be the problem.
check to see if fuel pump is coming on check fuse for fuel pump turn key to run and listen for the pump in the tank check relay
crackers
first check to see if your getting voltage to your fuel pump. go to the connector at the rear of the truck. check voltage. should have 12 volts. if you do have 12 volts your pump has gone bad. this happens some times. if you don`t have voltage find your fuel pump relay. (right side kick panel) see if it comes on. on some models the relay is built into the computer box. if it is in the computer box the computer box needs to be replaced. also check to see if your fuel pump fuze is blown.
check your fuses if all good check to see if there is power going to the fuel pump if so then replace the pump
Locate fuel pump underneath vehicle right in front of left rear wheel, you will see the fuel filter connected in line with it. On the front part of the fuel pump you will see a brass valve connected to it. That is the fuel pump check valve. Make sure you clean the area around the fuel pump and pump filter thoroughly before disconnecting. My question to you would be how did you know it was bad?
