First of all, place bits of the magnesium into a test tube. Then pour the acid into the tube, in the meantime locking the tube with a balloon. Tighten it up and theres your stored hydrogen :)

Magnesium Chloride and Hydrogen gas

What is the limiting factor in the reaction of hydrochloric acid and magnesium?

the limiting factor varies between the magnesium and hydrochloric acid as there needs to be enough hydrogen for every magnesium..

What is the reaction between hydrochloric acid and magnesium?

These two substances readily react to produce magnesium chloride and hydrogen gas, The reaction equation is Mg(s)+ 2HCl(aq) = MgCl2(aq) + H2(g)

What is the word equation for the reaction of magnesium with hydrochloric acid with sodium chloride with hydrogen?

Magnesium metal with hydrochloric acid produces magnesium chloride with hydrogen gasThe bolded words are the only new ones.

What is the difference between the reactions of concentrated hydrochloric acid and dilute hydrochloric acid with magnesium?

Concentrated hydrochloric acid is more reactive than dilute hydrochloric acid. When concentrated hydrochloric acid reacts with magnesium, it produces magnesium chloride and hydrogen gas more quickly and vigorously compared to when dilute hydrochloric acid reacts with magnesium. This is due to the higher concentration of hydrogen ions in concentrated hydrochloric acid, leading to a faster and more intense reaction.

What is the equation for the reaction of Magnesium and Hydrochloric acid?

Magnesium hydroxide plus hydrochloric acid yields magnesium chloride plus water. Mg(OH)2 + 2HCl = MgCl2 + 2H2O

What type of energy change associated with chemical reaction between magnesium and hydrochloric acid?

This reaction is exothermic.

What gas is formed when hydrochloric acid and magnesium are mixed?

The reaction produces hydrogen gas as will most reaction between an acid and a metal.

What reaction would happen with magnesium and dilute hydrochloric acid?

Mg + 2HCl --> MgCl2 + H2 A reaction producing a salt, magnesium chloride, and hydrogen gas.

When you put magnesium metal inside hydrochloric acid What is the chemical change?

The chemical reaction (change) is a single replacement in which the element Mg replaces the element hydrogen in hydrochloric acid: Mg(s) + 2HCl(aq) --> MgCl2(aq) + H2(g)

What reaction is created when magnesium mixes with an acid?

Magnesium reacts with acid to produce hydrogen gas. For example reaction of Magnesium with Hydrochloric acid is..... Mg +2HCl ----> MgCl2 + H2 gas
