I had this problem - see previous posting on 00688 Tuvalu. On a ME/Pentium II system, repeated sweeping with AVG, Adaware 6, Spy-Bot Search and Destroy, Trojan Hunter etc., seems to have removed the problem, butsince I didn't know what villain I was actually looking for, I can't tell you which one was successful. Remember - if you are running a multi-user system using Windows Family Log-In, you probably need to sweep from each user's log-in, as some of these things may be registry entries associated with the current user.
Something I forgot in my previous response - make sure you turn System Restore OFF before you start sweeping - nasty pests can lurk in the back-up files and re-appear.
