Replace the head gasket with a thicker one, this would lower the compression ratio.
You have a very limited time to get the tank fulshed before you fuel pimp and or engine goes. Hope that helps.
The only difference in regular unleaded fuel and super unleaded is the octane rating is higher in super unleaded fuel. Burning super unleaded would not cause your vehicle to die.
According to the 2006 Lincoln Navigator Owner Guide : The vehicle is designed to use " premium " unleaded , 91 octane or higher
The recommended fuel for this vehicle is Premium Unleaded but Ford does not say it is mandatory. So, more than likey, you can burn Regular Unleaded with a loss of power as the fuel managment sytem will adjust for the lower octane fuel. I am not 100% sure about this on this vehicle so contact your local Ford dealer to verify that I am correct.
This vehicle requires Premium Unleaded. You can try using 89 Octane and see if it pings or not. If it does then you will have to move up to 91 Octane. Do not use Regular, as it will cause pre-detonation and may do harm.
Use exactly what the owner's manual states. If you do not have one, you can obtain one from your dealer or a salvage yard. This is word for word what it says in my manual: Fuel selection: Use only UNLEADED fuel, Research Octane No 91 (Octane Rating 87) or higher. For improved vehicle performance, the use of Premium unleaded gasoline with a Research Octance No of 96 (Octane Rating 91) or higher is recommended.
Any Japanese petrol driven motor vehicle made post 1985 should run on Unleaded without modification
I was looking at the 2002 Ford Thunderbird Owner Guide and it shows that the vehicle is designed to run on " premium " unleaded gasoline , 91 octane or higher , it doesn't show anything about E-85 ( so I would say no )
The standard engine for the Audi A3 is the 2.0L in-line 4 DOHC. The small car is turbocharged and runs on premium unleaded fuel. Though it is a small vehicle it runs better than most larger ones.
Yes, the 97 Mitsubishu Eclispe does run with unleaded gasoline fuel; however, it can run fine on normal fuel as well the unleaded fuel. It does not affect the performance of the vehicle.
If you have the Flex Fuel Vehicle ( FFV )
From the owner's manual: "If your vehicle has the 4.6L V8 engine (VIN Code Y), use premium unleaded gasoline with a posted octane rating of 91 or higher. You can also use regular unleaded gasoline rated at 87 octane or higher, but your vehicle's acceleration could be slightly reduced, and you might notice a slight audible knocking noise, commonly referred to as spark knock." So you can use either regular, mid-grade, or premium. I have not noticed any loss of acceleration or spark knock by using 87 octane fuel.
