I have done this many times.I have a cage (fairly large) that I put a litter pan and toys and a small towel hammock.Put it in a location that the kitty can see and hear you and your daily activity.Talk to it and spend time hanging around the cage talking in a soothing manner.Slowly begin to try to interact with a toy.Take the kitty out a few times a day and hold it.(sometimes you need a good glove for this!) Dont use the glove to long or it will scare the kitty. I have found it does not take long for them to enjoy the love and companionship over their fear.It generally takes me about 3-4 weeks for total trust.Be PATIENT!! You will be rewarded with alot of love. Good luck!!

You have to show them the error of their ways. Living wild is all they've known so far in life, so they do not know they are doing any wrong. Try showing it that you are the boss now and you make the rules!!! It will take time for it to learn that, but slow and steady wins the race. You can show them that good things happen when they do what you want, like a little treat or a good petting.

I live near folsom, Ca. At the Zoo here they have a program where they take in feral cats and use volinteers to sit in the cage with them. Many of them lose there fear of humans and reach a point where they become domistcated and adopted out to a home.

I usually take care of a few feral cats, feed them and give them water but the ones that fear me never completly loss their fear. I am sure many feral cats can be domisticated with the proper technique but it is not an easy task.

what you are going to want to do is at first make sure it has no diseases and keep it in an enclosed area. AVOID PUTTING IT IN A CAGE because when you do that it will upset the kitten or cat and it will not like if you touch it.

After you have checked to see if there is any diseases (if there are let a professional give their advice DONT do it yourself) go to feed it by putting cat food into a bowl and leaving it with the cat( DO NOT WATCH THE CAT EAT OR IT WILL ATTACK AS A TERRITORIAL THREAT).

After you have been feeding it for two weeks give it a toy mouse or a pole with carpet on it so it something to entertain itself with.

after you do that for another two weeks, try to feed it by hand(if it dose not accept it and it scratches you, then back away slowly and re-do paragraph 2) and do that for THREE weeks.

After you have done all of that, try to pick it up.

If you have followed all of these instuctions then your cat will be tamed.

DONT FORGET TO GIVE YOUR CAT TREATS, THIS WILL HELP THE TAMING PROCESS.

Yes, you can. If you do it preferably before they are one year old and used to your feeding and touching them they will be used to humans and their home and they will stay with you.

Well if i were you let it come to you first. Whatever you do don't pet it or pick it up. My friend did and she had to get a rabies shot.

You may be able to get it to come eat, but domestication is outside of its nature.
