The 24" iMac was discontinued in October 2009 but it should still perform well without any serious problems. iMacs are marketed as an all-in-one computer which has little scope for enhancements. Adding extra RAM may provide a little speed boost, ensuring not too many applications are running at the same time and cleaning up the hard disc removing unwanted items will also enhance performance slightly. Ideally; backing up the whole hard disc to an external disc, wiping the hard disc and having a fresh install of the OS and required applications would be most beneficial.

Upgrading the graphics on a mid-2007 iMac is generally not feasible, as the graphics card is integrated into the logic board and is not designed to be replaced or upgraded. The only viable upgrade options for performance are to increase the RAM or replace the hard drive with a solid-state drive (SSD). However, these upgrades will not significantly enhance graphics performance, as the limitation lies in the built-in GPU. For substantial graphics improvements, consider investing in a newer iMac or Mac model.
