I use my Compaq computer 'start up' discs to erase the hard drive, this is called 'formating'. Then I reinstall Windows XP and whatever I want on my computer. Don :)
I agree with Don. Reformatting wipes the drive clean, and you get to start over.
As long as you have the windows xp disk to reinstall the operating system then go to: start: run: cmd: then type "format c:" then press enter (without quotes and if you have two hard drives then you also have to do "format d:" make sure you do the secondary hard drive first.) Then when it asks you if you are sure type y for yes or n for no. Saying yes will wipe your hard drive therefor wipeing your PC clean. After you are done put in your installation disk and restart your computer. (for a 20gb hard drive it takes about 20-30 min to format.
you need a home edition CD to reinstall the windows xp home on a laptop computer. With the CD and original code.
Simply put the program disk in the drive and when prompted, tell it to install. It will automatically format and install over the old OS.

F8 in most computers will bring up the Windows advanced boot menu, this can not erase everything because Windows refuses to erase the drive it is running on. You can download "live-cds" which is a operating system on a disc, after you burn it, they will allow you to wipe your drives. If you want to be sure that the drive is completely wiped so no one can recover the data, Darik's Boot And Nuke is popular.
Hit it with a Hammer
Just Reload cleverbot home page.
1. Turn the computer on 2. insert windows disc 3. choose reformat from cd 4. highlight the old partition (after it loads) 5. delete it 6. reinstall windows (if you want to) WARNING! ounce you refomat it everything is gone for good, EVERTHING.
If you mean redo it with windows XP or w/e operation system you had you need to make a recovery disk... If you don't know how to do that then just get a windows XP or windows Vista CD depending on what was previously on it before. Pop in the disk and restart the computer then follow the instructions. This will erase everything that is on it and install a fresh copy of windows xp/vista. Now if you want to delete your hard drive were nothing can be found on it and it will destroy your hard drive. There are special CD's you buy that will delete everything. This will make it were the hard drive cannot be used anymore :)
In order to format Windows XP, you will have to use the installation disc. This will erase all the data that you have on your computer.
Reinstall Windows XP from your CD or DVD set and reformat your hard drive. This will erase everything including the virus. Also, get a Mac.
Connect your iTouch to your computer and click "Restore iPod" and it will erase everything on your iTouch.
Yes you will... Formatting the hard-drive will erase everything that's stored on it - including all programs and personal data. To re-install Windows 7, you will need the activation key supplied in the software's packaging or from the sticker located on the computer's case.
