The problem is that we don't know exactly what causes RA let alone cure it. I have had problems to some extent for a large part of my life. I have had all kinds of theory's put tome regarding what to eat and drink. The conclusion I have come to is that while what you eat and drink does have some effect on your system, it has very little effect in the long-run. for instance once upon a time I would get bad inflammation after drinking more then a small amount of port or red wine. However now the stuff does not affect me. The same went for mangoes and apples. From what I have been able to gather on this subject aside from my personal observations is that you should eat a reasonable and balanced diet, avoid becoming over weight, and keep a bit of an eye on your body's reactions to foods that you eat from the point of view of having Allergies that may affect inflammation. I have a hunch that this does happen however I also think the body's reaction changes to different foods over time. The beauty is that aside from being sensible about what you eat, you need not get stressed out about everything you eat. And probably the most important thing with RA is not to get stressed about things.

Only foods that do not aggravate the arthritis should be eaten. It would be best to consult with your doctor and perhaps also a dietician to ensure you still have a healthy diet.

Certain foods can definitely help relieve some of the pain from arthritis. Fish with omega 3 fatty acids, citrus fruits, peppers, olive oil, and vitamin C rich foods are all good ones to use.
