The only way to find out if you have been approved for food stamps before getting your letter is to call your Department of Human Services (or whatever it is called in your state) and ask to speak with your case worker. If you do not know the name of your case worker they can look it up for you. They will be able to tell you if you have been approved and how much you have been approved for. They can also tell you if you have not been approved and for what reason or if you are missing any information they need to approve you , such as, proof of income and so on.
