To complete it, give him some special medicine which you can find or make using the Crak Pot in the Quester Rester (the inn in Stornway run by Erinn) the recipe is strong medicine x2

You just have to keep completing grottoes and getting new maps. There is no way ever to force or predict a certain map to come along, the only way is to keep going. You will need a lava map of around level 70+ before you will start seeing Tantamount enemies.
