A Not Ready Report (assuming its Emissions Related) Means that the monitors (sensors / system that checks components related to emissions / engine control) have not completed their testing. Cars require "drive cycles" after a check engine related repair has been done and the light has been turned off / computer reset. Drive cycles vary from make to make and model to model but are usually around 60 - 120 miles. They are broken down into X amount of highway miles, and X amount of city / stop and go miles. The best way is just to drive the vehicle for a couple days both around town and on the highway. Reset your trip odometer and drive the vehicle around 100 miles or so. This does not have to be done all at one time. If after a hundred miles or so your vehicle still reads not ready then you may need to have it taken to a shop for further diagnostics. Most vehicles / emission tests will pass if atleast all but two of the monitors are ready.
