If he doesnt want to pay attention to you leave him.
Dealing with a self centered boyfriend is maybe a hard thing for girls because most of the times girls cannot read the mind of their boyfriend but making some ways to find out why he's acting such way will make a good decision when you come to the point of leaving him at least the reason be valid though.
Try to find out why he's showing such atittude to you and if you found out that there's nothing really pursuing with him then that's the time that you will have to leave him.
Good question since I'm dealing with a friend just like this. Unfortunately, you can't "fix" anyone. The only person you can fix, is yourself. You have to decide for yourself if being friends with someone selfish and self centered is worth it, good for your own well being, and worth your relationship with that person? If so, you may want to have a gentle talk with that friend about how you feel. Don't point out how your friend is acting, but rather about how their behaviour makes you feel. Hopefully your friend will consider your feelings, become less self absorbed, and try to be a better friend to you. If not, you're best to move on. It won't be easy, especially if you've been friends with that person for a long time, but being around friends with these traits can be very emotionally draining. And unfortunately, most people who are self centered will most likely not see it your way or understand how you feel about it, since everything revolves around them and they are always in the right, at least in their minds. Best wishes to you and your friendship!
always change the topic or ignore whenever they talk about themselves. Talk to more people and hint to them that they talk too much about themselves (in a nice way)

Yes
While both terms refer to a focus on oneself, "self-centered" typically implies a lack of consideration for others, often resulting in narcissistic behavior. On the other hand, "selfish" suggests a tendency to prioritize one's own needs or desires over those of others without necessarily exhibiting narcissistic traits.
