Well, some idiots in my neighborhood sprayed my truck and my girlfriend's car. It pretty much ate through her clear coat and her paint looks like crap now. Mine had a tougher finish, however a few months later and I'm noticing spots where my paint is actually flaking off of my hood. My truck is fairly new too.

If you are standing in front of the truck it should be the little tab sticking out from the front of your hood. just push it too the side and release the hood by means of the handle you can then reach underneath your hood
You have to unbolt it from the frame that attaches to the hood of the truck.

the type of coat she wore was based on the riding cloaks used at the time. She wasn't riding, but the coat was typical of the riding cloak (which contained a hood for the rain and wind - hence the 'riding hood')
