Most states only need the intent to drive while impared to prosecute. so if the keys are in your hand and your outside your car, they pretty much just assume that your going to drive. Iknow its not fair, but that's how it works.
bull , by law keys need to be in the igntion to be intent to drive. i know because that happen to me in ca.
Yes.
No, the offense (DUI) is Driving Under the Influence (of alcohol) and it applies to the driver of the car not the owner.
You can buy a car in Florida with a DUI, but you may not be able to get insurance for it.
They can, but they don't really need to. They can make keys for the car by looking up its VIN and seeing what key pattern is associated with it. For that matter, most people who repossess cars are only briefly slowed by not having keys.
DUI is a very serious matter. You can expect your rates to increase by a large portion. They can revoke your insurance if they see fit to as well. If they do not revoke it, you will have to get SSR insurance.
Most car rental companies will not rent to a person with a recent DUI conviction.
Yes it is possible that you can be charged with a DUI while just in your car. Depends on the laws of that state as to whether or not there is "intent to operate" a motor vehicle. Usually that means that keys are in the ignition or that the car is running.
No. The vehicle is worth what the vehicle is worth, no matter how it was totaled
If your keys are in the ignition, yes. Also, if the policeman saw your car moving prior to him issuing the ticket, then yes. id like to add.. Yes most likely, The only way you can't is if the car is locked, and you dont have the keys... But i have heard people get away with it by pacing down the road fifty steps or something and hiding your keys leaving your car unlocked, the excuse is that you've lost your keys, so you drank some beer and plan waiting to be picked up or sleep the night or something because its unlocked.

if you committed the DUI, you need car insurance.
Having a DUI won't make your insurance company drop you most of the time. You will have to pay more, but just getting car insurance with a DUI shouldn't be a problem.
