nail polish remover or acetone (sometimes, but not always the same thing) should work just fine on smooth glossy tiles. For rougher or more porous tiles, a non plastic scrub brush (acetone will destroy many plastics) may also be helpful. Failing this, try asking a local industry professional. Most would be happy to answer. Please note : if the tilework has had a protective finish applied or if this is unknown, test a small amount of polish remover or acetone in an inconspicuous spot.
I ususally just dab with nail polish remover! Works wonders!
Unfortunately, nail polish remover is mainly a solvent- acetone. Depending on the type of tile, it Is possible that nail polish remover has dissolved part of the tile. This cannot be undone, and that tile would have to be replaced.
Tile floors do not require a floor polisher. You must sweep and mop them regularly but there is no need to polish them.
I would use nail polish remover that is 100% acetone. I have used nail polish remover on linoleum tile and laminate counter tops to remove wall paint and it worked great. I just tried nail polish remover on the tile in my bathroom and it was fine. You won't have to worry about damage. If you are worried about damage try it on a little spot that isn't too visible first.
Hardwood floors are generally more expensive than tile floors because they are harder to maintain. However, higher quality tile floors can cost more than hardwood floors.
You can get a high gloss floor finish for asphalt tile floors by going to a good home improvement and DIY store such as Lowes. An example of such a product that is available from Lowes is the Zep Commercial 5-Gallon Wet Look Floor Polish.

No, it is not recommended.
No. Mastic 500 is an asphalt-based preparation. It would be very bad for porcelain tile floors.
It is best to use a white vinegar/water (50%/50%) combination to clean ceramic tile floors. It really works!
