It depends if you have WiFi or not. If you don't have WiFi then you'll have to go to "settings" and select WiFi and if your I pod indicates that it's not on or you don't have a server, then click on it, and choose a server and a wireless network. Also if you already have WiFi and a server connected you shouldn't have anything to worry about. In order to get on to the internet if you already have WiFi, just go to the "safari" icon and tap on it and you'll be on your way.
