First of all,Visit wikipedia and read about the history, philosophy and discipline of parkour.
you can't do parkour, and don't know what it is.
If you have internet access, visit some proper websites about parkour (American parkour, parkour generations etc),and watch many tutorials. You can learn more there.
Generally, start conditioning and building up speed, stamina, strenght, balance. You should not try any parkour moves before you get familiar with exercise.
After you have trained for some days, start with simple and fundamental moves like ROULADES,SIMPLE VAULTS,WALL JUMPS AND etc(you will get to know all of them from the internet).
Then, search your environment. There are everywhere training spots.
Dont get too excited,AND ALWAYS BE 100% CERTAIN OF WHAT YOU DO.
Keep conditioning and practicing the basics.
As you improve your skills, your confindence grows, and you get more familliar with parkour, try to find harder obstacles, higher walls, and longer routesDO NOT procced to more demanding obstacles or heights until you are sure about it,and have FULLY understood the basic movements.Inspiration can help.Don't get disappointed, and always enjoy PK(parkour).
Europe.
David Belle and his father started parkour, if you were wondering about Free-running aswell, Sebastien Foucan.
Tom riches started Parkour, in 1982! He's great, knows all the tricks. I met him at the world Parkour fest in 2009! On his back, there is a tattoo of an eagle.
hi
It officially started in 2007 but was practised and performed long before this
I did parkour yesterday. I am doing parkour today. I will be doing parkour later on today.
The definition of parkour is individualistic, practitioners of parkour define parkour in their own way. However, all people can agree parkour is the freedom of movement.
Invent is probably not the best word to use. David Belle developed parkour from age 17 but it's not as though Belle simply decided to call all the elements of the art parkour collectively. Around 1997 is when it started to become popular.
David Belle is the founder of parkour, but no one 'made' parkour.
Free-running is almost a martial art, that is based off of the French art of parkour. Parkour has it's roots in WWI and WWII, as some of the training for the French military. Free-running became what it is most recognized as today around the 1960's until the late 1990's.
I would not rely on just watching parkour videos to learn parkour from. You have to be in tip-top shape to do parkour. You do not want to break anything.
Parkour can be start by run.
