I assume when you say "Pinging Address" you mean the IP Address?
If that's the case, the majority of printers with this capability have a way to print out a Network Configuration Page, the IP Address will be displayed on that page.
What type of printer is it?
The IP Address identifies a PC on a network. Source: I am an IT student in College :)
If you have physical access to the printer take a look at the printer's configuration menus or have the printer print it out. You can try pinging the printer by name to see if it responds or if you have access to the print queue configuration information it will be listed there.
It depends on whatever IP address did you ping.
A printer is assigned an IP address when used in a networking environment and only if it is used with a printer routing device wich will assign the printer an available IP address from the main router to share it over the network.
By specifying a URL for the printer in a web browser By specifying the path to the printer in the Active Directory
It depends on what printer you have. Consider buying labels made for your printer, or from your printer's manufacturer.
The only thing that pinging the local loopback adapter on a host will prove is that the TCP/IP stack is installed and operating correctly. It will not diagnose a faulty NIC.
It depends on the printer you have. But basic instructions are to log into the default IP Address of your home network's router /modem. put the IP address into your printer and have the network access key.
IP Address
Typical printers do not have an IP address, unless it is shared on a network with either a print box, or throught a CAT5 cable directly into the printer. If your printer has CAT5 connection, the IP address will be in the setup menu of the printer. If you are using a print box, you'll have to refer to the manual of the print box, as there are many different types. If you are just sharing a USB or Parallel printer on a network, your printer does not have its own IP. It uses your PC's IP to connect to other PC's
Just check behind or on the right side of the printer where there will be a square hole. If your network cable fits in it, a GRAND SUCESS!
Nope ! Not all nics are pingable. It may also happen the same nic is not pinging , Which was pinging earlier. Nope ! Not all nics are pingable. It may also happen the same nic is not pinging , Which was pinging earlier.
