it depends on how committed you are on losing weight. normally, all you need to do is exercise. that is the key to losing weight. when you see food that can make you fat like junk food, try to resist the temptation. once you get the hang of it, it won't be a problem. be happy on your weight and don't listen to people who are bringing you down. hope this helped :P

To lose 50 pounds in three months requires a total calorie deficit of 175,000 calories. That is 58,333 per month and 1,944 calories per day. Although not impossible, this pace of weight loss can cause nutritional deficiencies and is not considered healthy.

If you think of it as 10 pounds a month it shouldn't be as daunting. 10 pounds a month is about 3.5 pounds a week, which can be done by simply watching calories, eating a little less and exercising. My dad is taking a diet program and that's basically what he's doing.

Starting about six months ago, I started a somewhat extreme physical change. I was 286 pounds, and six months later I'm at 236. Guess how I did that, cigarettes, weed, and just plain willpower.

You can't, without landing in the hospital.

Even with the best diet and a certified nutritionist you could probably lose 16 lbs at best (2lbs a week)

If you want to look thinner for a particular event, like a reunion you can lose the water weight by doing a cleanse a few days before the event- but the weight will return - FYI you must be extra careful to stay hydrated when doing any cleanse.

You don't. That is more than a pound a day and that is way too fast to lose weight. If you do well on a diet and get good exercise, you might lose 12 pounds in a month for the first month. Typically 1-2 pounds a week is a really good rate to lose weight and most women are much slower than that.

While it is technically possible to lose 50 pounds in a month, you would have to be considered 'morbidly obese' to have enough excess weight to do so.

Real weight loss is very slow.

If you go on a water fast you should lose about 50 pounds in a month.

That would amount to about 12 pounds a week or almost 2 pounds per day. That is far too much to expect, and would be extremely unhealthy. It took a long time to put that much weight on, expect to take a little while to take it back off.

Cut off a limb... or two.

Honestly, you can lose that fast no matter what diet or exercise regime you are on. Try a more realistic goal perhaps? i know it seems sow, but if you aim for 2 pounds a week instead of PER DAY you are much more likely to actually lose fat and have a LASTING result. Try and lose it too quick and your not only setting yourself up for failure but you are also putting yourself at risk.

Either way Good luck!

I don't know where this answer came from but I lost 30lbs in just 9 days and felt great while doing so by doing a liquid diet and making vegetable and fruit smoothies... as well as getting all the nutrients my body needs. And 30lbs was just in the first part of the month so yeah... you do the math! The thing is this- as long as you're on a liquid diet your stomach muscles will actually shrink again and you will see a huge difference since some of these ads where people lost 10lbs in just 2 months isn't nothing but a market scam.

==========

The only reliable way to lose 30 pounds in one month would be some kind of surgery or medical procedure like Liposuction. Even the "cool sculpting" medical procedure takes more than 1 month to take off that much weight (usually 6-12 weeks for the frozen fat to drain away). According to doctors and trainers, 8-10 pounds a month is a reasonable expectation. Intense exercise combined with a very restricted diet can allow some people to lose perhaps 15-20 pounds in the first month but the weight loss after that will slow considerably even if they maintain the exercise and controlled diet (again - more like 8-10 pounds a month). Perhaps some few people can manage a huge weight loss on a liquid diet of vegetable and fruit smoothies, but that would be an extreme outlier

===========

Some incredibly obese people (perhaps starting at more than 500-600 pounds) with no underlying metabolism problems (i.e. nothing otherwise wrong like a thyroid problem) have managed large weight losses in a month when they radically change the lifestyle and habits that allowed them to balloon up to that weight. It's actually rather hard to maintain that kind of weight - you have to eat a lot more than normal and get a lot less exercise than normal or you will naturally shed some weight to get back down to the 300-400 pound range. For those people, the first 100 pounds or so are the easiest - then they have to settle for slower weight loss like the rest of us.

You cannot. Such a rate of weight-loss is dangerous, not to mention impossible. Even total starvation wouldn't result in losing that much weight.

You should diet gradually, allowing a whole year for every 50-100 pounds you want to lose.
Here's a program for the period in which you want to lose weight:
Plenty of moderate aerobic exercise, no sweetened liquids at all, and no junk food at all. Preferably no sugar, and as little added salt and processed foods as possible. Eat 3 not-large-portioned meals/day; do not skip breakfast; and avoid sweet snacks. Limit your calories (better to consult a doctor or nutritionist concerning the amount), and weigh yourself 2-3 times/week. Ignore the sensation of hunger. If you see your weight diminishing at a safe, reasonable rate (1-2 pounds/week), keep it up.
Once you've reached your target weight, increase your calorie intake somewhat. And you can then have small amounts of sweetened foods or junk food on occasion (if at all), along with your regular foods (not instead of them). But keep checking your weight 2-3 times/week.
Avoid crash diets, diet pills etc. Avoid fatty cuts of meat. Walk as much as possible. Bicycling and swimming are good too.
More guidelines:
Don't concentrate on specific foods so much as on a balanced, healthy diet plus exercise. Plenty of moderate exercise rather than intense exercise, which can damage your joints.
Good nutrition means eating what your body needs, while ingesting as few harmful things as possible. It has also been described as getting enough of each of the major food categories (grains, fruits, vegetables, protein, dairy, etc.; plus plenty of water).
This will vary somewhat from one person to another; and I don't believe that there's any universal diet that can be prescribed for everyone. Avoid best-sellers with their perennial fad diets. And think twice before using any dietary supplements or weight-loss pills.
In general, one's starting point can be a menu of whole grains, whole-wheat bread, a good amount of vegetables, some fruits and nuts, fish, lean meats (in not-large amounts), and some dairy. However, this must be tweaked according to one's health, weight and other factors at the outset; and also adjusted over time, as one sees what works for him/her in particular.
Also...whenever you feel queasy, nauseous, constipated or otherwise not completely well, try to remember what you've eaten over the last several hours or the last day. This is one method of adjusting one's food habits.

To permanently lose 50 pounds - it'll take you around 5-to-8 months if you go on a proper diet & exercise and the more overweight you are... The quicker you'll lose 50 pounds. For example a 300 pound person will lose 50 pounds in maybe 3-5 months because there bodies (because of excess weight) burn more calories than a person at a low weight and... It may actually take a 200 pound person 5-8 months to lose 50 pounds Exercsie is also a factor - The more intenser and longer you exercise = the faster you'll lose 50 pounds
