First, that is a tall 12 year old. I am 28 5'5 and weigh 135lbs. Best thing to do is regulate his/her diet, take a daily vitamin & stay active. Take walks, play Basketball, swim, go jogging.
If you're a parent, get involved, get in shape yourself!
Now, you'll notice an apetite increase with all the activity and that's normal, your body needs to replace the energy. Drink a lot of water and no sugary drinks!
Eat healthy and exercise?, That is true to do, but you also want to try to avoid unhealthy foods, start slowly and in a couple of weeks you have gotten used to this new form of eating, like no soda whatsoever, inplace of that drink juice, tea, or water, then you can cut chips and cookies etc. off, last, try not to eat after 8 p.m, since you are twele try no later than 9 p.m, then make it 8 when you get used to 9 p.m. you dont have to go on a crazy diet or starve yourself because it will never work, last thing to help you loose weight is: keep a good attitude about it, when it seems like you cant go on, just think that once the day is over you will be one step closer to healthy.
Talk to your mother or guardian about a healthy diet plan. It may take a little time but that is the most healthy way for you. Also ask about your family history for example if your mom is small now but was big at your age theres a good chance you may grow out of it being that youre so young. If the diet plan doent not work for you, ask your guardian to make a doctors appointment to see if there is a medical reason for you being over weight. i wish you well sweetie.
There is only one way to lose weight unless you can afford Liposuction, eat less than you burn. Change your diet and exercise patterns to burn more than you eat and you'll loose weight. How much is up to you.
Starvation diets don't work, they just cause your body to "shut down" and prepare for famine. Instead, go high protein, low fat, low carbohydrate. In other words, eat plenty of fish, turkey, beans, and cut back on butter, anything fried, anything with simple sugar or processed starch in it.
Safe foods: whole grain foods that don't have sugar in the first three ingredients. You can include baked or broiled fish, fowl or red meat in moderation, that means not much beef, pork or lamb. Make sure you have plenty of green vegetables, boiled or steamed without butter. Also include 3 servings of fresh fruit daily, fruit cannot be packed in sugar but can have been frozen.
Foods to avoid: butter, cream, sugar, honey, corn starch, white flour, any kind of fried food, candy, ice cream, anything with sugar in the first three ingredients, anything that results in more than 100 calories per day in total fats (that only allows you 10 to 11 grams of fat per day, which isn't much)
Exercise: vigorous exercise at least 5 times per week for at least 45 minutes. That can be something like jogging, bicycling at a speed of 15 mph or more, swimming, Racquetball or anything that works up a good sweat and gets the pulse rate WAY up for the 45 minute exercise period.
NOTE!!!!!!! Don't do any of this if there is any doubt about your physical condition or if you even SUSPECT something might be wrong, unless you get a checkup and permission by your physician.
A combination of good diet and vigorous exercise not only causes weight loss, it makes you very attractive. When someone follows a program such as is described above, he/she will look far more healthy than simple starvation, and the weight loss will be easier to maintain. Many people just diet or even diet to extreme. That kind of plan results in disappointment and an unhealthy look.
You also don't have to go as extreme as above. Basically eat healthy ( fruits, vegetable's, and stay away from most sugars, fried food, and sweets) and exercise as much as you can will just about do the trick. At least that's what I do.
Because you are soo young, the best thing is excercise and eating healthy. Your body does not stop growing until you reach 21, so avoid diet plan etc and just enjoy playing games with friends and family.
But dont worry your body will change with time :)
140 pounds
Regardless of sex, if you are 5'3" tall, you should not weigh 100 pounds. The healthy weight for a person of that height is between 115 and 140 pounds.
don't stop moving. Honestly, you shouldn't need to lose 40 pounds, but dance, sing, run, walk, play MOVE basically.
Boxers weigh around 60 - 80 pounds at 1 years old. When older they weigh about 85-140 pounds.
= 140 x 0.38 = 53.2
A "stone", as a measure of weight, equals 14 pounds. i.e. if you weigh 10 stone, you are 140 pounds.
Your healthy weight range depends on your height, age, sex, and general build. If you're four foot, and weigh 140 pounds, you're probably overweight; if you're six feet six and weigh 140 pounds, you're likely underweight.
Average healthy weigh is determined by your height and not by your age. If ou are 13 and 140 pounds, you are at a good weight if you are between 5'1" and 5'7".
I wish. And it's crazy because I am practically in that same margin of weight and I would love to lose 65. 140 is currently my goal weight, and we'll see from there... but I suss that 65 lbs in only 8 weeks is not healthy for the body. :/
The recommended weight loss for 5 months is mostly 45 pounds; 140 pounds are very big amount to lose in such a short period of time. It would be better wait minimum one and half years to reach your weight loss goals.
140 tons is 280,000 pounds.
if u are 15 you should weigh under 150 pounds if shorter the 5'0ft. then you should weigh under 140 pounds....
