the most common way to make the 2.5 v6 avenger faster is swapping the engine for a 3.0 Mitsubishi engine.
if you have the I4 engine, then turbo is the way to go. also the 5 speed is faster then the automatic. and if you really want to go crazy the 2g eclipse gsx/gst drive train can be swapped.
