My parents love to drink 1-10 (usually like 2-5) glasses of wine. My dad acts like a moron when drunk, while my mom is a brat. My mom used to smoke. I know what you're going through, and I'll offer suggestions based upon personal experience. First of all, it's hard to stay calm. Find out a time of day when they are sober. (Not high/drunk.) My parents like to drink at night. When out they pretty much always get wine. Anyway, tell them honestly how you feel in your own words without offending them. This is very very difficult. My parents still drink and couldn't care less about how I hate their drinking. They don't believe me. They don't abuse me or anything they just pretty much want me to get the f-bomb out. My mom acts like she wants me to leave and never come back, and like a "female dog". I hate them when they drink, but they'll never quit. Until they die, probably.
About the smoking, my mom smoked cigarettes and her breath smelt terrible, and I hated it. I was extremely worried about her health. But this is MY AND HER SUCCESS STORY: I told her many times that I hated the smoking and told her some risks. It seems that she reconsidered it after refusing a number of times. She has smoked on and off, apparently. Currently, she is quitting, but not cold turkey-she uses nicotine patches, but some people say that the nicotine gum works better for them, others use different stuff. I wish you luck, and don't forget to praise (and maybe even reward) your dad if he attempts to quit/quits. Good luck!

You can attend a teen Al-Anon session, and chat with others who may have solved this issue in their homes.
Not many people want an alcoholic dad , or just for their dad to drink ; so, my opinion is that you tell him how you feel about it and If he loves you he'll try to stop. If he's an alcoholic, it'll take time...and patience. You need to help him stop. Trust me this might be a challenge. Let it be a challenge accepted.
Write down why you need to stop smoking and drinking alcohol, beer, and margaritas (margaritas have alcohol in it). Personally, I would stop doing things that hurt my body and cause anxiety.
