How can you open the drivers' door when it won't open from inside or outside the car?

This can be difficult. If possible, remove the driver's seat (usually 4 bolts or nuts), may need to disconnect airbag connector and/or seat belt sensor. You will need to remove door trim (after removing window winder and undoing the screws which hold on the handle depending on model). Remove the cover underneath the trim to allow access to the door lock mechanism. Identify and move the lever on the locking mechanism and then operate the lever which unlocks the mechanism. If jammed, spray with WD-40 or equivalent. If lock remains jammed, unbolt hinges and try to remove with a jiggling action. If still jammed, may need to cut out section of door around lock, and gradually remove the locking mechanism, either piece meal remove and/or grind the mechanism off the latch. This last step means that you will have to acquire a replacement door and lock from a wrecker or breaker.

go thru passenger side and open drivers door; remove inside of door panel. You will see wire rod unhooked next to left side. rehook rood and outside should wook. If this is not the problem then the outside door handle has broken and must be replaced by taking two nuts/bolts (don't remember now) from inside, unhook rod, and replace handle.
