As long as the music (audio) is in the correct format for use in Windows Movie Maker, it can be imported/edited in the program. The following audio formats are compatible with Windows Movie Maker:

.aif, .aifc, .aiff, .asf, .au, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .snd, .wav, .wma

To see what format the file is currently in, right-click the file and choose Properties from the drop-down menu that appears. Note the file name extension (format). Is it one of those listed above? If not, it will have to be converted before it can be used in Windows Movie Maker.
