Try removing the switch and jump the wires to see if switch is bad
can probably raise the window/regulator by hand if you can remove the window motor from the regulator
I had to to take the door panel off remove the window motor raise the window then put the motor back on
you need a new belt for the motor to raise and lower the window you need a new belt for the motor to raise and lower the window
It could be the switch, power source to the switch, or the motor is burnt up. More than likely the motor is the problem since the driver side get a great deal more use than any other.
Remove door panel to check wiring to switch and motor See if motor is getting power through the switch - if so motor is bad If no power to motor check operation of switch - jump wires to test if window works bad switch
1998 Chevy cavalier with power windows are driver side window is down how can i jump the motor to raise it up thank you for your help
i believe you take off the inner door panel and manually raise the window or remove to get to the motor and replace it with a new one duct tape a garbage bag over the hole where the window was. nice and breezy.
It cannot be raised manually. You will have to repair it in order to raise the window.
The WDO button locks the window control so only the driver has the ability to raise and lower the window.
If your talking the spring on a power window it helps raise the window when you activate the power window so it takes some stress off the motor.
If the window motor is not running to raise the window, then several things need to be checked to fix the problem. Check the fuse, switch, wiring, and window motor to find which part is bad and needs to be replaced.
Pull the inner door panel and unplug the window motor. Get a power source (booster pack, spare battery) and use two wires to power up the motor manually so it goes up then leave it unplugged until the problem is fixed.
