Well, I am dealing with the same problem myself actually. I would really recommend ignoring him to some extent, and as much as you really can.

However, if you have one similar to mine, asking for fights, telling your girlfriend to go and die, I really recommend you should just hit them to be honest. Because this anger is not going to go away, and if it is bottled up, it can cause some serious mental injury.
