The most likely problem is the blower motor making the noise. It may be necessary to remove the box to find the noise for sure.
1996 caprice can you remove 4.3 engine and install a 5.7?
I believe on the '96's you open the glove box and remove the screws on the top edge
If it is the same as my Cherokee it will be on the top of the transmission on the driver side right behind where the engine and transmission join.
throw a rock at it
The fuel pump is inside of the gas tank on a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee so the tank must be removed in order to replace the fuel pump. I'm pretty sure its the same for the Cherokee "classic". I just had mine replaced a few months ago. Good Luck!
The ajustment bolt for the belt is under the power steering pump.
Remove the bumper and put on a new one :)
the flashers in the 1995 - 2500 ram van are located behind the glove box - have to remove inside of glove box to see them.
Open the glove compartment and remove it. Disconnect the electrical connector and the three mounting screws. Remove motor.

I assume it's very similar to my 95 cherokee. I've posted instructions (with pictures) for replacing the radio at www.timsjeepblog.com.
Not if you can get far enough under to access.
If it's automatic, it is most likely a non ABS Chrysler 8.25 axle with 3.55 gears.
You should be able to use the key that is used to start the car. Place the key inside the key slot that is in the front of the glove box and turn counter-clock-wise, this should unlock it!
Remove the glove box. The front blower motor and the resistor can be accessed from there.
Should be on the bottom or rear of radiator or remove lower radiator hose
The Cherokee Kid was created in 1996.
It is located directly on the firewall behind the glove box. It is easier to remove with less chance of damaging the ecm holder if you remove the screws on the front of the glove box, the screw holding the glove box retaining cable, and the bottom screws holding up the bottom cover just below the glove box. This will be easy since all of the screws are 7mm screws. The screws that hold the pins onto the ecm are also 7mm. You will then remove the ecm from the bottom but by taking the glove box out you can actually see what you are doing.
put it into park, i made the same mistake and couldn't get it out for ages!
Where is the windshield wiper relay located on a 1996 grand jeep Cherokee
